Cooperation Challenge

Cooperation Challenge

The cooperation challenge is a challenge unique to you. Behavioral scientists have shown that sharing news of our acts of friendship, generosity or kindness, inspires others, particularly those closest to us, to do the same or similar – causing a cascade of cooperation.

Share your cooperation challenge – either completed, or the goal – with your family and friends on social media with the hashtag #coopday and they will learn about what’s important to you and feel inspired to undertake their own cooperation challenge #coopday.

What do I do?

For your family and friends – The challenge is to do something that enriches a relationship with someone who is a loved one, close friend or family member. Give a gift.  Spend a special time together. Do a joint activity. Help them with a problem. Let them know how much they matter to you. There are no rules. You are free to choose.

For your community, school or workplace – Help a local charity. Make a friend of a neighbor. Mentor a work colleague. Teach another student. Or undertake an idea that someone has posted on cooperationday.org. Again, there are no rules, except that it must be meaningful for you.

We would love to hear about the cooperation challenge you have set yourself or completed. Be true to yourself and be creative #coopday.
